John Kennedy's real estate investment specialization and experience combine to offer clients superior advice and execution of any real estate plan. John has extensive experience from his twenty plus year career with hundreds of millions in closed investment transactions. Some of the key aspects handled by John include: underwriting for valuation, marketing plan preparation/implementation, negotiating, and escrow-due diligence management for a successful closing.
John obtained his CCIM designation in 1993. A CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) is a recognized expert in the commercial and investment real estate industry. A CCIM is part of a global commercial real estate network with members across North America and more than 30 countries. This professional network has enabled CCIM members to close thousands of transactions annually, representing more than $200 billion in value. As a result, the experts who possess the CCIM designation are an invaluable resource for commercial real estate owners, investors, and users. CCIMs have completed a designation curriculum that covers essential CCIM skill sets including ethics, interest-based negotiation, financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis, and investment analysis for commercial investment real estate. CCIMs have completed a portfolio demonstrating the depth of their commercial real estate experience. Finally, they have demonstrated their proficiency in the CCIM skill sets by successfully completing a comprehensive examination.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:
John was raised and educated locally in Portland, Oregon. After Jesuit High School, John attended and graduated from the Robert Pamplin School of Business at the University of Portland, with a major in Finance. As mentioned above, John also continued his education by earning his CCIM designation from the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute, Chicago, Illinois in 1993.
BUSINESS EXPERIENCE:
John has significant national, regional, and local experience. He was appointed to the investment real estate council for the second largest real estate brokerage company in the United States. John has been quoted in The Oregonian, The Business Journal, and the Daily Journal of Commerce. National, regional and local clients have trusted John for their sensitive investment transactions where confidentiality was required. John started his company, Pacific Real Estate Investments LLC, to directly control his assignments, client relationships and results. John still answers the phone when you call. A favorite business aspect of John’s is assisting clients with their IRC §1031 tax deferred exchanges. A significant portion of John's transactions since 1990 have the buyer, seller or both conducting a tax deferred exchange. John has an established long term community commitment with being raised in Portland, Oregon amongst six siblings. Married: wife Maureen with children: John, Clare and Brian.
