This property was owned by multiple owners with different objectives. John Kennedy found a client who desired a creative redevelopment opportunity. Convincing the seller he could redevelop the property into a hotel due to the great northwest Portland location, the buyer assembled the redevelopment plans and structured the ownership to pay cash to the two exiting partners and co-invest with the remaining owner. The other selling partners achieved their objectives by both exchanging into a separate wholly owned property and the other taking cash at closing.
